A Watercolour Triumph
The Franklin Arts Festival was a huge success again this year and is always a great showcase for Watercolour. This year the first prize for most outstanding watercolour was awarded to Michael Barker for his painting Viridios. Second prize was awarded to Carolyn Judge for her painting Springtime. Third place was awarded to Bernadette Parsons.
Michael Barker also took the prize for best overall painting for Viridos. Its great to see watercolours winning over other paint mediums.
Well done to Michael, Carolyn and Bernadette.
You can also read about the event on Claudia Slaney's page.
Congratulations to Carolyn Judge also for winning a merit award for her portrait painting "Sad Girl" at the Mairangi Bay art exhibition. More paintings by Carolyn can be found on her website.
