Next meeting

The next meeting of the Auckland Watercolour Society is on 14th October 2013 at 1pm at the Glenfield Hall, Hall Road, Glenfield. The challenge for next month is a "still life with ornaments" and the guest speaker is Joanne Mortimore who will also be giving a demonstration.

Chairman's Column

The Society is looking at expanding its current activities to include Saturday afternoon workshops, establishing a curriculum for beginner watercolour classes, as well as introducing more innovations to our monthly meetings next year. maybe meetings south of the bridge in central Auckland, and undertaking more publicity for watercoloursists/ watercolour painting.

The committee looks forward to hearing ideas or comments from any member at any time. During October and November we will be considering the programs for 2014 so now is a good time to make a contribution.

The workshop with Bernadette Parsons is full, which shows that there is still a strong thirst for improvement among our amateur members.

There are still many opportunities for professional members to have their work shown on our website gallery pages. Please email your contribution to Doug Higham (djhigham@yahoo.com.au) who will answer any queries about listings.

Now that the weather has improved - it is a great time to get out and enjoy painting. Cheers

AWS Merit Awards

The Auckland Watercolour Society Merit Awards exhibition will be held in November. This is a judged exhibition and prizes from our sponsors will be awarded.
Set up day is 3rd November 2013 and the exhibition closes on the 24th November 2013.
