Speaker at the May meeting was Joan Taylor. Joan provided the critique of the challenge, higlighting subtleties around issues of perspective and balance. Joan then gave an overview of the different concepts she introduces in her watercolour courses. This covers a range of topics such as shapes, attributes of colour, but also questions of the overall composition such as balance. Joan showed us a portfolio of her impressive work, which also included other techniques such as engravings. Afterwards Roy presented another couple of helpful lessons from John Lovett.
