Next meeting

Report from the July meeting

We had a great afternoon painting at the July meeting...the subject was a photo taken near Glenorchy of an abandoned dinghy - at the end of the session we had a critique of the paintings which I may say were all very good interpretations of the photo...the afternoon was most rewarding and we will do it again.

Prior to the painting session Loveday Kingsford gave the words of encouragement on the challenge which for this month was "A Misty Morning" - Loveday was very encouraging to all our artists and commented on the high quality of the works submitted - next month's challenge is "Our Own Front Door"

We welcomed two new members to the Society - Ms Marina Botkova and Ms Sachiko Pass - we hope they enjoy being part of the Society

Back to Basics Workshop

Learn how to paint using watercolours...learn how to do a wash...learn how to mix yellow with blue to get green...learn how to apply paint to paper.......

To do all this why not join the Auckland Watercolour Society in a "back to basics" watercolour painting class at the Glenfield Hall Hall Road Glenfield on Saturday 16th August 2014 from 9.30am until 12noon.

We will supply the paper - you will need to bring a basic kit - the primary colours of Red Blue and Yellow - tubes not pans /brushes/water jar/pencils/palette (a white plate will do)/a board for resting your paper on - if you have paper either for sketching or painting bring it along....the cost will be $10.00 per person.

AWS Merit Awards 2014

The Auckland Watercolour Society Merit Awards exhibition will be at the Takapuna public Library. Set up and receiving date is the 9th November 2014. Opening night will be Tuesday 11th Nov. The closing date of the exhibition is 30th Nov. The entry form is avaliable here for download. For questions please contact Joanne mozart1@clear.net.nz.
