Next meeting
The next meeting of the Auckland Watercolour Society will be on 10th April 2016, 1.30 pm at the Glenfield Memorial Hall, Hall Road, Glenfield.
Joanne Mortimore will lead us in a paint along session; please bring your materials.

Notes from the March Meeting
This time Roy Boston had again organized for us a paint-along session. The tutorial demonstrated how a simple shore scene can be painted in stages, each stage already yielding a finished painting. First we had just the shoreline and a distant headland, then some more rocks and shadows, then some people. A simple and effective study.
The challenge this month was a painting just in Ultramarine Blue and Burnt Sienna, two complementaries of so different character, yet they combine so well. Chris Ashton did the critique for us. A great range of subjects was presented, showing that a reduced colour scheme is very versatile.
Chairman's column
The Open Art Show of our society is starting in a month, we are looking again for minders during the exhibition. And of course I am sure we will see some outstanding works at the Royal Easter Show which is just a week away.
If you have topics that you would like to be covered in our meetings or possible speakers, please tell us at any time for example at our meetings over coffee or by email. We are always open for change in our meetings. We would also be interested in what you think works best for the challenge critique, we had a couple of different formats in the past.
